Walk all the way down there.and keep going. Pass the fountain and through the park there is a long dirt/stonelike street. Walk toward the gardens/park on the left. As described, you go to the Piazza della Republica. The first 25 minutes are on flat ground, but in the 93 degree heat in June, the walk up the hill for the last 13 or so minutes was killer. ![]() We drove for 6 hours from Florence just to see this gem! The reviews scared me as I feared that we may not be able to find it.but we did!!!! Contrary to the reviews I read, this was not a simple walk from the Piazza della Republica. My mother, sister and I traveled to Cortona this June. ![]()
